Pleasure Drivers

Initally I felt "The Pleasure Drivers" moved slowly but, in the end I felt compelled to watch it again. In doing so, I really loved it and got much more out of it. I enjoyed figuring out the characters played by Angus MacFayden (the Professor) and Lauren Holly (caregiver) both outstanding performances. I would have liked to see more of Billy Zane's character (cult leader). His coyness was a great contrast to Lauren Holly who he infuriates. I really thought the scene in his office, was one of his better scenes. My only disappointment was the lack of moral justice for her in the end. I was really rooting for her. Meatloaf gave a solid performance, but was not quite sure if his character died. I would love to see a sequel but will miss Lauren Holly's character.

I can't believe we watched the same movie. Meatloaf gave a horridly awkward performance. I've heard my drunk friends tell more compelling and focused stories. You know how those stories go, they start out with, "This one time when I was wasted...". Every character in this movie was cliche and did exactly what you would expect them to do... with the possible exception of the bounty hunting strap-on rapist. And that part didn't even make any sense. In the end we get left with the two characters we know the least about going off to have the second coming of Christ. If I had to sum up this movie in a word, that word would be "What?".

If you want to make a movie with no real point then I think you'd better make up for it with plenty of style and cut out as much fat as possible.
