So... is this coming out in the US or not?

Okay, its been three years since it was released and about a year since it was supposed to be released, and still... nothing. I can't find it anywhere and the only copies I've seen for sale I can't play on my DVD player. So what's the score here? Is it coming out at all in the US? If so, when?

And what's the hold up? I've heard some scuttlebutt about Mel Gibson taking personal offense to Modine's character and trying to suppress it, but that sounds a little stupid and paranoid, so I never really put much stock into that story. But still, if its an issue of subject matter and/or questionable blasphemy, whatever that even means nowadays, I can't really see it being so offensive that no one wants to even touch it. If Bad Lieutenant can get a DVD release, I don't see why this can't.

I love Abel Ferrara's movies and really look forward to seeing this one. So where the hell is it, already?
