everytime i watch a movie with someone, whether it be my friend or my boyfriend, hey always have something bad to say about it. they don't even like movies that much, but theyre so critical about it that it makes me sick. we watched jimmy and judy, and my boyfriend has the nerve to say 'well, i'm done with this movie." What am i going to do, take it out because you say so? and then my friend said she hated it to, so i HAD to take it out and watch it by myself later that night. it makes me feel so dumb. anybody else feel that way?

You're so not alone darling, I hate that too. When I suggest a film for friends or family to watch, it's gotten to the point where I worry that they won't like it, because I recommended it! Madness, and then I take it personally when they don't like it. Mental. But you're not alone.

My boyfriend made us stop watching A Clockwork Orange because of the rape scenes. We got in a huge fight about it. Then the next week he tells me how excited he is to finish the movie. Seriously? It was really stupid. Then he went and told everybody how much he liked the movie and stuff and it pissed me off. As a woman, i should be disturbed by rape scenes but I understand that it's just a movie. For college, I really want to study film so i'm obsessed with movies. He always gets mad at me whenever I talk to my best guy friend about movies because he feels left out and thinks I'm cheating on him. UGH!

I realize I just rambled a lot, so sorry for anyone reading.

Wow your boyfriend and friend dont like to compromise that much. Ill watch whatever, I dont give a *beep* Ive watched movies that my friends dont like to watch, but they still watch it through just to finish it up.

If people complain about my taste in movies or music I just ignore them and assume they don't have as good taste as I have. And why care about the opinion of someone with bad taste? They clearly can't tell bad from good!

Erm, maybe because this isn't a good film? I mean, really this whole discussion comes down to one thing: TASTE.

I think this movie sucks. It's my opinion. I love film. I can't imagine life without cinema. But this movie was terrible.

Many people like this film. It's their opinion. They may love film too. Just different opinions. You can't say your friends are snobbish, cultural morons because they have a distaste for said movie. Especially considering this is a love it / hate it movie.
