the scottsboro Boys

Thats the title of the novel I read in the 1940's.
I do not know if it is still in print. Google it. When I was a teen I liked it.
It was serialized by a left wing newspaper in New York City. I was a High School student then & found the story very exciting.
I cannot see this film as it has no sub-titles, BUT I doubt whther its any good as it never was theatrically released.

Why would you automatically doubt that a movie is not any good because it was not released in theaters ? There has been many fine films that have never been "theatrically" released . And this is one of them . Is it "the perfect movie"? No , but few are (and there will always be the haters for any movie made on here ). But it is a great movie none the less , and well worth the time to watch and you can't go wrong with T. Hutton , he always does a fine job .

I should have added that hardly any films that never got a theatrical release, were really decently made movies,I hve been seeing films since about 1935,
I would watch this on TV if it had sub-titles..
I wonder if the current version was as sexually charged & violent as the book.(newspaper chapters)
Since I need closed captioning to view any film.

It's in English. You write in English extremely well, so you, likely, don't need subtitles.

I've seen the film, and really it's not highly charged by violence, nor sex. Almost the entire film takes place in a courtroom. There is some sexual talk and we do see flashbacks of some younger gentlemen fighting, but that's about all.

The film focuses on the fact that it didn't matter what you could prove in a trial in the South against black people, they had no chance back in those days. If you were black and accused of something, you were automatically guilty.

I'm sure the book you read was much more exciting than this film. The film is decent, but it's nothing too special. It's pretty harsh the way it portrays these obviously innocent black people having no chance at justice, and that is the films focus. How close to the truth this film is, I really have no idea.
