South Park? Not so much!

Went to see this film because of a festival programme calling it a film along the same lines as South Park. But no, not really. This is probably a really good film if you like fart jokes and tits, but it grows very tiresome and I suddenly realised how long ca. 90 minutes can be... At least South Park treated the delicate subject matter of fart jokes, tits and ass in an intelligent manner.... This is more like a teenage-bad-taste-the-audience-should-laugh-everytime-someone-says-penis-kind of movie.

I feel your pain.

I thought the movie was okay though. It did have way too much child-humor in it though. If some of that was taken out and it didn't TRY to be shocking. It would have been pretty funny. You could even look past the fact that some of the ideas copy Team America. Whoever did the marketing for this movie made it easy to hate. I think it said "Raunchier than Team America" and then it made sure to keep mention how Montly Crue was in it. They are a small part luckily.

This movie claims to make fun of Armaggedon, sounds like a stolen idea considering Matt Stone and Trey Parker said they original wrote the script for Team America to be a complete satire on Armaggedon but Jerry Bruckheimer turned them down. So they turned it into Team America: World Police. I quite vividly remember Matt Stone saying in an interview.

"The original idea was that we thought if you took any Jerry Bruckheimer movie and redid exactly with just puppets, it'd be hilarious. We want to do that for armaggedon but JB's people turned us down."

What a rip off.
