A Superficial Question to Those Who've Seen the Movie

I have not seen "Copying Beethoven," and am not sure that I want to, since I'm more interested in the music than the man. However, I would like to hear from people who have seen it as to whether Ed Harris's full head of hair looks convincing or not. Someone in another thread stated something to the effect that he "looked ridiculous in the wig."

Thanks

It looked convincing to me. I had never seen Ed Harris before though so I didn't know he was 'follically challenged!'

Thank you for the feedback.

I have seen Ed Harris in several movies, and in the IMDb photos for "Copying Beethoven," he is completely unrecognizable because of the hair. That's what prompted me to post this question on the Message Board.

I enjoyed this film. The scene depicting the premiere of the 9th Symphony is IMHO superb! There are innaccuracies in it, in fact there are in quite a bit of the film and as a Beethoven devotee I thought these would annoy me. However I thought Ed Harris's portrayal was extremely good. Without giving anything away I believe he captured Beethoven's *ahem* eccentricities very well! If you like his music and are prepared to accept that it is one person's interpretation of the last year of his life then I think you will probably enjoy it.

Sigh ... There ARE no inaccuracies. It's a fictional tale and marketed as such.

The simplest thing I can say is that Ed Harris is unrecognizable. It was a brilliant portrayal. I like Ed Harris, however he's one of those actors like Jeff Goldblum who always seems to be playing his characters as if they were like him. This portrayal was refreshingly un-Ed!

And the wig looked great. In fact, I momentarily forgot that Ed Harris's hairline is retreating.

Worth seeing, all the way around!
