Some thoughts on 'Blind Justice'

I've been "lurking" for a while, reading this as well as other boards, but I feel compelled to share some thoughts.

There has been a lot of talk lately about relationships and so forth and I really don't have an opinion of that issue. I figure what happens happens. I'm willing to leave it to the writers =O) I recall someone mentioning being upset by Jim beating up the suspect (the child molester) a few weeks ago. I admit it: that bugged me a little. More the fact that 4 others stood around and watched it than the fact that it happened. But it occurs to me to mention that it isn't the first time. Think back to the pilot: Jim elbowed the suspect in the back of the head. Then Marty slapped a guy in the back of the head a few weeks later. I also have to remind myself occasionally "hey you, this is fiction...don't get too worked up!" I know it's easy sometimes to get wrapped up in a show and the characters. The best example I can think of is Champ. (I'm not bashing Champ, defending actually). We get wrapped up in characters and their lives. Personally, I'm not that crazy about Christie, but I won't be heart-broken if Jim and Karen don't end up together.

I am a fan of "Blind Justice". Originally, it became part of my "viewing week" because my online class ended at 10 on Tuesday. It was convenient. But I have come to like the show. I feel everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but I personally LOVE this show. I do have to remind myself that it is fiction sometimes because I get annoyed about things. I am a Criminal Justice major, so I get a little worked up over some of the "unrealistic" aspects. But as has been said by many people "this is fiction!" =O) and I can get over it. I enjoy "Blind Justice" and the majority of posters. I hope that I can add something to this board, but if I can't, feel free to tell me to go away =O)

Hey, Angel, don't go away! We're all in this together, in our appreciation of this amazingly well-written and compelling show. Yeah, it is fiction, and we sometimes have to remind ourselves, in our involvement, that it IS fiction. But damned well-written, directed, and acted fiction.

As for Dunbar whaling into the child molester suspect a few weeks ago? Tell me these things don't happen (just check your NYPD history for the past five or ten years). In this case I feel it was warranted, and the only way they were going to get a confession from the suspect. And let's face it -- it made for one terrific scene! Blind or not, the lead character is still a hotshot cop with a hair-trigger temper and ten years on the Job. So roughing up a throrougly nasty piece of work didn't seem all that out of line to me.

Glad you're loving the show -- and please write to ABC before May 17th, when the decision about renewal will be announced, and express your support.

I'm well aware that it happens, but that doesn't mean it isn't disturbing when it occurs =O) I agree that it was warranted, but there are those people out there who can't always distinguish reality from fiction. It doesn't happen THAT often, but it does happen (and not always in NY). We had a case locally about a year ago in which a police officer was fired for nearly beating a suspect to death to get a confession (it later turned out that the suspect wasn't even involved). But it's TV and TV is fiction, right? =O)

I've written once, thinking about writing a second time. I love this show and I truly hope it is renewed next year.
