Final episode?

Does anyone have any reliable information about whether the final episode of "Blind Justice" will be shown and, if so, when?

I have found the following information, but no definitive answers, on the abcmedianet site. ABC is airing a Diane Sawyer interview of Brad Pitt at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, the date we expected or at least hoped to see the final episode. ABC will show the NBA finals beginning, most likely, on June 9. They will air a game on Tuesday, June 14. If necessary, game 6 will be on June 21. I have not been able to find any information about what programming ABC will show on the 21st if there is no NBA game. The "Program Airdates" section of the abcmedianet site shows "Blind Justice" at 10 p.m. on the 21st. However, I am not sure how reliable this information is, because there is no mention of the possible NBA game. I hope it means that "Blind Justice" will air on the 21st if there is no NBA game, but that's all it is -- a hope.

Complicating things even more, ABC has stated the NBA finals will start on June 7 instead of June 9, if both conference finals are less than 6 games. This would bump the Brad Pitt interview which bumped "Blind Justice." I have no clue what this would mean, except that the possible NBA game on the 21st would be game 7 of the series, instead of game 6. I don't know whether the Brad Pitt interview would be postponed all the way to the 21st, since he presumably did it to promote his new movie, which is coming out on June 10.

Of course, all of this could have been avoided if ABC hadn't decided to show the Trump movie last Tuesday.

If anyone has any better or additional information, please share it!

From what I can tell, with repeated searching of the abcmedianet.com site, it looks indeed, as though the FINAL (sob) episode will air June 21, and this has been confirmed by thefutoncritic . . . sort of. Not sure, but I think the Emmy nominations are out that week -- seem to remember a post saying they would be released June 17th-ish. Hope it wasn't July.

Two things:
1. How can they avoid nominating Ron Eldard for his incredible work as Dunbar? Yeah, they probably will, 'cuz this show really was under the radar except to those of us who cared and never missed an episode. But the Emmy voters did get a DVD with the pilot and the first two eps -- Four Feet Under" and "Rub a Tub Tub" -- so fingers crossed. (Too bad they didn't get "Up on the Roof" and "Seoul Man." Not to mention "Marlon's Brando." Again, sigh.)

2. Wouldn't it be HEAVEN if some well-deserved Emmy nominations caused the last episode to spike in the ratings? Sigh. Hey, ABC couldn't do worse than they did with that ill-advised, ill-considered Trump movie, right?

Last news from abcmedianet.com: BJ goes into reruns Tuesday August 9th, not the 2nd as previously posted.

At the risk of sounding like "Debbie Downer" (on SNL), there's still the little problem of the possible NBA game on the 21st. Keeping my fingers crossed for a four- or five-game NBA finals. . . .

you think this show was worthy of an emmy for best actor? You have got to be joking, not a bad show or anything but not worthy of any awards or anything.

"Hey, ABC couldn't do worse than they did with that ill-advised, ill-considered Trump movie, right? "

Lol yes they could it's ABC, "Dancing with the stars" doesn't
exactly look like award winning material.

I really hope ABC reconsiders the show, what crap are they going
to replace it with it anyways?

Before the show came on tonight it was announced it was the SERIES finale. Tell me it was a slip up and they meant "season". I really hate it when the good stuff gets cancelled.

I checked the abcmedianet.com site again tonight . . . and this time noticed that it was last updated May23rd. So I'm thinking they'll update it again in a week or so, at which time we'll find that tonight's episode, "Under the Gun," was indeed the last (sob) and that -- OH, HOW I HATE ABC -- they probably won't even stick to their plan to rerun the show in August. I think I read somewhere that the ABC Tuesday night 10 pm slot goes this fall to that piece of junk "Boston Legal." I'm betting ABC will put up "Boston Legal" reruns in August to get everybody ready for their new season.

Okay. Take a deep breath. Can someone who lives in the LA area call Stephen Bochco Productions and ask them three important questions, and post the answers here?

1. Will ABC, to their knowledge, air Episode 13?

2. Will ABC, to their knowledge, air reruns this summer as scheduled?

3. Will "Blind Juctice" be released on DVD -- all thirteen episodes?

That's Stephen Bochco Productions

reply

Hate to say this, but there was no "Next on Blind Justice" preview. ABC still lists August for Blind Justice. I doubt it also. Bochco should have pushed the show to a cable network.

Tonights the last episode? Crap, right when I lost my tape, so I can't tape it! *bawls*

So this was it. And you say they had another ep taped and they're not showing it? What a bummer. At least it looked like Jim and Christie were working it out.

It is NOT heresy, I WILL NOT RECANT!

As of this morning ABC's website says the season finale will be aired on June 21st but that is subject to preemption by the basketball game.

I heard it last night, they said series finale. Now I'm furious for two reasons... not that one person's upset is going to make any difference but on top of them cancelling a great show, there's another episode and they can't even finish what they started?? And what are the odds they will rerun them in Aug? Blind Justice vs Game and what do you think is gonna happen? Especially considering their current track record??
Not good odds... I'm boycotting ABC if I don't get my last episode, it's not like I'd be missing much.
By the way Zuuzu, I almost but not quite owe you a virtual cookie for Jim giving/not giving up his gun. Looks to me like maybe if they'd air that last episode he just might give it up :)

Ladies don't start fights... but we can finish 'em!

reply

I caught ABC's announcing the 12th episode as the "Series Finale", too, and also noted that they didn't preview the next epsiode. This reeks mightily of ass for ABC to not even broadcast the half-season order of Blind Justice in its entirety, just one episode shy of the finish. To add insult to injury, I was thinking pecsiely the same thing as you, Birdofire, that you and zuzuu are being denied your day in court regarding your wager. The wankers.

"Situation like this, there's a high potentiality for the common m$@%*rf^&!#r to bitch out."

reply

my bet is that the reason they don't air the final episode is to keep the rights to the show, in case they choose to bring it back later... like if tehy aired all the episodes, and then cancelled it, i think another network could get the rights...

Boston Legal is taking Blind Justice's time slot next season... since Grey's Anatomy took Legal's time spot after Housewives...

and i thought there was at least 1 more episode of BJ?? they should at least show the final episode they filmed... i don't get it, if they don't...

that'll be like what FOX did with Tru Calling, airing all the remaining episodes that were filmed EXCEPT for the final one, for whatever reason...

ABC's site says they will air it, depending if a Game 6 of
the NBA Finals doesn't happen. I would think they would air
it, at least the following week.

Funny I just took a survey from NBC/Universal about tv shows
this season and they did mention Blind Justice. I gave the
show high marks.

They'll never air the final episode...but sure as shootin', it'll be an extra on the dvd complete series set.
