Would you Agree...

I found this show late in the season. My wife and I enjoyed watching it together. We discussed the plots and character relationships during the commercial breaks.

The cast worked well together. It seemed obvious that if the show lasted long enough they would only get better as a team. Think about any of your favorite shows that go on for more than two seasons. You can almost pinpoint when the actors become totally committed to the role and each other.

NOTE TO SPONSORS: That's when the audience becomes more broadbased and devoted.

Would you agree?

Agree I've been a fan since I saw the pilot but this show
had it's flaws, and the likable characters in the show (Jim's
Boss), Karen, started being unlikable.

Jim broke open many cases that they as people who are not
blind were completely in the dark, yet they badgered Jim
about his sight. Marty especially, he was just a bastard
period, At first he said, he couldn't make it, then was
it apparent that Jim was a far smarter and better cop than
Marty, the sob begs him to stop being the man (I think it
was episode three or four). Jim backs off so the insecure
Marty can feel like a cop and not a dirtbag.

Some progress is made, but I tell ya after watching the last
episode , which was quite pitiful, all that progress Jim made
was shattered once again by Marty's prejudices.

He said him carrying his gun was detrimental but it goes far
beyond since Marty had it out for Jim, he was just looking for an
excuse to make his life a living hell. When Jim gave up
his gun then, all the progress Jim made himself went down
the toilet. I think the writers coped out (pun intended)
by doing it, since it destroys Dunbar's image all over again.

So yeah a second season should have been made, my ideas would
be to get rid of Marty, perhaps kill him of entirely, Karen
and the rest of the team stay on. Karen and Jim go on
some hunt which results in Karen getting hurt, Jim defenseless
without a gun to provide proper protection, is reinstated
back to carry a gun....they investigate the perp who shot
karen, Jim possibly uses his gun in the progress, the department
gets back on his side etc....

Possibly as others have alluded a closer relationship with Dunbar
and Karen occurs. Jim did save her life earlier in the season
so it's kinda expected. Jim's wife, stays on and off, they get
counseling we see the familar shrink again. The abusive
police chief sees the error of his way or
is forced out.

I found Jim's boss to be absolute coward against Jim, initially
very supportive, then when the chief comes in on his high
horse to attack Jim, the boss basically stands there and does
"when the police chief gives you an ass kicking you take it"

What kinda support is that? Anyways like I said the department
eventually supports Jim again minus Marty whose gone and we
get some more clever episodes.
