This or 'My Girl and I'... favourite?

I have just watched these two films over two consecutive nights and was wondering out of those who have seen both, which is your favourite version?

Out of the two films, I personally preferred My Girl, although some elements of Crying out Love worked really well.

My Girl seemed to spend more time with the young protagonists which made it an easier story to follow, but the tapes in Crying Out, to me, were a great plot device.

The ending of My Girl was a more satisifying end to me, with a permanent memorial to Su-eun's love for Su-ho, whereas the scattering of ashes providing closure for Saku in Crying Out, just didn't seem to provide the same sense of satisifaction to me.

So, which do you prefer?

Personally, I'll get right down to basics, but it just felt as though My Girl And I was a copy of Crying, some of the lines in the movies felt like they were exactly the same. It annoyed me, particularly to the fact that I watched crying first over My Girl And I, but I had to be sure which one copied who, so I had a look at the release dates. Thankfully Crying was released first so my feelings were some what justified.

In my opinion, some Korean director saw Crying and said to himself, Hey!, I can make a better version of this. So he tried, and to me, he failed

Just my opinion...

It is well acknowledged that "My Girl and I" is a remake of "Crying..." and both are based on the novel "Socrates in Love."
