How are the cheats activated?? (HELP!)

I have the Ps2 version of the game and I see there is a cheat section that is locked. How are they unlocked in a fair way? I know that over here below

you can enter vi pirate or whatever but are there scores or certain objects in game that can be completed to do that? (I know its a bit of a sucker question but just curious)

Also, how are the costumes unlocked? Are these passwords only for PC because they don't seem to work on my console.

Dude just make a profile and name it V PIRATE then go to extras and youll have a cheat menu and everything unlocked!
