shareLes showed it in the Pixar auditorium in Emeryville, CA shortly before his death. The original legal agreement with Leon Russell stipulates that it could only be shown if Les Blank was there in person, and since Les is now confined to a cemetery plot in El Cerrito CA, that requirement can never again be met. I have heard that negotiations are pending regarding an eventual limited release, but meanwhile nobody seems to know why Leon Russell doesn't want the movie to be widely seen. There is one sequence in which a roadie, extremely high on something, maybe PCP, is literally bouncing off the walls in a small room, so perhaps Leon simply doesn't want that shown as it reflects badly on his entourage during those heady times.
