why do kevin smith's characters always have to be so snarky and spiteful

to each other all the time throughout all the jay and silent bob films?

It makes me wonder why any of the characters hang out with each other to begin with.

For comedy.

Can't stop the signal.

Every film executes some form of conflict that either needs to be resolved or conveys the human condition. n this case Smith's snarkyism conveys the human condition.

I think it very closely resembles the snarkyism found in most message boards.

Snarky yes, but spiteful? Im not sure about spiteful....These are close friends...I'd have to say that's how friends act. Ok yeah there is the whole suicidal angels in Dogma....but the rest of the characters seem to be pretty normal in their own snarky way.

It's a good thing no one records audio when Randal and Dante talk because that locker room talk is offensive and perfect fodder to make Killary president. She will lock up all men and have a lesbian orgy mandated by congress. All California wine will be made with the testicles of Americas male population, but only those who identify as males. Bruce Jenner apparently gets a pass
