Why didn't Dante offer Randal to work with him in car wash in Florida??

The scene where they are going back to Moby's after riding the go-carts, Dante tells Randal how he should leave Moby's and change his life, etc, etc... And Randal complains why Dante gives a *beep* as he is leaving to Florida. In an earlier scene he offered Becky to work with him in the car wash once he moves to Florida. Why didn't he offer the same to Randal?? They are best friends and it would have worked out perfectly for both of them.

Because he wasn't painting Randall's toenails? There's friends and then there's friends

There, fixed it for you.

Bro's before ho's?

I suppose Randall was a good enough friend he'd have let Dante paint his nails if he really wanted.

Hey *beep* they are friends, not gays!

Imagine you're a dork and you're invited to a pretty exclusive party for cool people because you happen to be friends with a pretty cool. Most people would be grateful enough for the invitation. It feels kind of awkward to have to ask the partythrower if you can then start inviting your own friends when they're doing you a favor just to invite you in the first place.

"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"

Weren't they fighting in that scene? Dante probably didn't want to extend that offer during the fight.

Or maybe he knows Randall wouldn't want that job.

Can't stop the signal.

reply

Because he didn't have a right to offer Randal a job. It's not his company/business, it belonged to the father of Emma, his fiance. His fiance didn't seem to have a friendship with Randal. She had some revulsion towards him, he being a foul mouthed, dirty minded, underachieving man-child, and he was jealous of her relationship with Dante, and on some level, he was right, because she absolutely would have changed they dynamic of their relationship, and their friendship would have crumbled very quickly. One relationship would have had to end for the other to continue, and everyone involved pretty much realized it.

reply

Because it would have ruined the plot of the movie.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

He was joking with Becky, it's wasn't a real offer, and he knew she would never accept it anyway. Randall may have gone along with it, which would've caused a huge problem between him and Emma.
