Ethan Green appeals to what age group?

I've been a reader of Ethan Green almost since it got started. Over the years I felt it appealed to people born around 1970 or before since that's about how old Ethan would be. When I first heard about the movie, I was surprised that Daniel Letterle was cast, because he's too cute and too young. If I am right, the fans of Ethan Green the comic might are a little more mature than that and not particularly identify with a pretty 20something Letterle (though they may want to do him). Now I think that Eric Orner is a total babe, but Ethan was never particularly pretty, and the character isn't about being pretty (unlike Latter Days). I haven't seen the movie and hope it gets released on dvd.

Any opinions?

He appeals to me - 15-year-old female. Love the comic, anyway. I pretty much really love when styles (sex and relationships comic in this case) that are generally portrayed with straight characters have gay ones instead. To me, it's sort of building up to universal acceptance. Also, the gay lifestyle has it's own set of jokes and gags that only people who have immersed themselves in that way of life will understand - and I love laughing at things no one else gets. It'll be released October 10th on dvd.

I'm replying to my own post. I rented the movie and liked it. Actually I like it more than I thought I would. Because the movie has been more or less ignored by the gay mags, I was prepared for it being, well, not so good. But, It was very likable, had smart humor, was well acted. Without getting into any arguments, let's just say that I liked this more than other twentysomething gay comedies of the last couple years.

I listened to the commentary and the director admitted that Daniel Letterle had originally auditioned for the part of Punch. For undisclosed reasons, Daniel was cast as Eeth, and Punch was made even younger so that the character would be too young for Ethan. I understand that cating actors, especially in no budget indie movies, doesn't always go as planned (Daniel L. is younger than the character Ethan). This made me feel a little better, since the movie felt like it was about my young nephew and his friends, rather than me and my friends.

Anyway, I liked it.

I also enjoyed

Ma Vrai Vie A Rouen
Presque Rien
L'homme Qui J'aime
(France)

I did also really enjoy Get Real and a couple other of the classic Brit gay flics.

Even though it's slow and creepy, I liked O Fanstasma (Portugal), and recently I enjoyed Adam and Steve a whole lot. Actually, I felt that Adam and Steve seemed more like the Ethan Green comics than the Ethan Green movie. And even though I've never cared for the gross-out comedies, I really enjoyed Another Gay Movie.
