Question about ending (...SPOILERS...)

I don't know if it was just me, or when the armless boy (sorry, can't remember his name right now...) is either walking to or from the spring where his brother/nephew was killed, it seems as if his sister is sitting or standing on the various abandoned military vehicles in the camp in various and somewhat strange poses. Everywhere he looks it seems as if she is there. Although I don't think it shows her face, the girl is wearing the same clothing every time, so I assume it's her. I'd appreciate any comments on this.

Yes, he sees her everywhere, but it is only in his mind since she has already thrown herself off the cliff. He knows what she has done because he had the premonition dream. The boy was his nephew, her child from the rape she received the night their village was taken over. She had tried to get rid of the child a number of times. She wouldn't get close to him because of how he was conceived (no wonder since she was supposedly about ten when she gave birth).
