The potty humor was nauseating

There were a lot of unpleasant scenes -- getting flushed down the loo, swimming in poo, slugs everywhere, etc. Enough to make you lose your lunch. No wonder it bombed.

I can see why nobody else graced this with a response, but I can't help myself...

There's no "poo" anywhere. There's just a joke about Roddy briefly mistaking a candy bar for one. As for the flushed part, the movie's called Flushed Away, how else did you expect Roddy to wind up in the sewer? If you're offended by toilets then you have only yourself to blame for knowingly going to see a film titled "Flushed Away."

And wait a minute, how are slugs "potty humor?" They weren't even portrayed as gross or anything. The closest the slugs come to gross-out humor is when they land on everyone at the end.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, did you even see the movie? Your complaints sound like your 'knowledge' of the film's content comes from the trailer, which features the toilet, slugs, and candy bar...

reply

This did not bomb. The person's probably trying to lie that there is potty humor in this to get nerve-racking attention. The humor is actually very clean.

reply

Yes I saw it. Worst animated movies I've seen all year. I do like the Grommit movies. The film maker also wasn't proud of this. AND YES THIS FILM DID BOMB AT THE BOX OFFICE.

reply

According to who? The movie's wordlwide total box office performance was $172,413,021, which is more than its budget (which was only about $140 million or thereabouts). When a movie makes more money at the box office than it cost to make, then it isn't a bomb. The movie just performed poorly, but it did not outright bomb.

And if you did in fact see the film, then you should know that the examples of "potty humor" you gave was all there was in the entire film. And if you're going to let that tiny little amount bother you enough to declare it the worst film of the year, then no offense but you've got some serious issues.

This was also #3 in the box office for 2 straight weeks behind Borat and Santa Clause 3.

I don't know where you get your figures, pal.

From Boxoffice.com:

41 Flushed Away $64,488,856.

As a matter of fact, Dreamworks has severed its relationship with Aardman Animation because of this film's poor performance.

People were turned off by a story of mice jumping into toilets and having adventures in the sewer.

If it's true Aardman and Dreamworks have gone their separate ways...

That's great news!

Dreamworks completely killed the Aardman heart and spirit of this movie. Here's hoping Aardman go back to claymation and, more importantly, paying attention to the pacing of the movie and not resorting to the cheap gimmicks they employed in Flushed Away.

You're either a troll or making things up as you go along, simply to push buttons and see what reactions you get.

Hmmm..."I don't like potty humor, so I will naturally go to comedy entitled 'Flushed Away.'"

Brilliant line of reasoning if you ask me.

reply

Potty "Humor"? My friend, the closest thing to "Potty Humor" in this movie was when Roddy was getting flushed down the toilet.

If potty humor is so nauseating for you, then why did you even watch this movie in the first place? "FLUSHED AWAY" is the title of the movie, that should have been a bold enough clue for you to realize that there were potty jokes in it. Even though there was barley none, you still could have prevented yourself from seeing the movie.

HELL OF A TIME!

What else do you find unpleasant? Have you looked in the mirror lately?

I don't know what is wrong with the world - but I know how to fix it.
