Guinea Pigs

In the original Trailer for this movie , and the trailer in some cable companies on demand services - You see two Guinea Pigs that act as his butler when hes in the house. Anyone know why they were removed?

Sorry if this comes up twice. The board gave me an Error saying it wasn't sent.

Well, there are a couple of reasons. One of the less important was that the movie was taking too long to start. The makers wanted to get to the point where Roddy was getting into the sewer, not dallying around exploring his life rich life.

The main reason, however, was that Roddy was coming off as too posh and spoiled. The filmakers wanted him to come off as classy, but not completley and utterly helpless. Also, Roddy was supposed to be alone. No friends, no family. Not even butlers. That's why he made friends with the dolls, and that's why it hurt so much when he saw Rita with her family. And how, when he finally became part of the family, it made the movie that much better. =]

The Butlers are called Gilbert and Sullivan I think? and they are present in the Flushed Away game on PS2

A pity, really, because it completely ruined the pacing of the beginning of the movie, and you were left feeling no real empathy for Roddy at all. And as for making the movie better, well, hardly. It's a shallow and overused theme, nothing like previous Aardman classics, but I've ranted about that in my own thread.
