Better if claymation?

Do you guys think that this movie would have been better if it was done using stop motion rather than CG? I'm not the sort of person who hates CG but it wasn't very good in this and looked kind of sloppy, like I could always see it was CG, it just had that look to it. It's quality surprized me considering its budget, and if you compare it to pixar at the time, where the quality of animation was pretty great.

Anyway, it was in the style of chicken run and Wallace and gromit, with the mouths in that way that they seem to be with nick parks work and so on, so why not go all the way and do iit with clay? It would have made it less dated, and probably would have been more popular as people would have linked it more clearly to Wallace and gromit and chicken run.

What do you think?

100% agreed. I was so shocked at how bad this film looks that I couldn't even finish it! This is a 150 MILLION dollar budget for Christ's sake!!! Where did it all go?

And no need to compare it with Pixar, compare it with other Dreamworks films. Shrek was made 5 years before this film with 1/3 of its budget. Wallace & Gromit curse of the Were Rabbit was made 1 year before with a 1/5!!! These are both masterpieces of animation in their own style, and they make this film look like it was made by a bunch of students on their personal computers!

I'm guessing that Mckellan, Winslet, and Jackman didn't work for free.

This will probably never get read, but do you people not read the trivia section? It states that because of all the water in the film they could not do claymation, so they did the CGI to look like it's done the other way.
