Okay....whodunnit?

My wife and I managed to catch the first half of this movie last night and were unable to see the rest. In a nut shell......who was the killer. C'mon somebody fill us in.

Dad did it.

He used to attend that artist colony with the dead girl - he fell in love with her - she did not with him. When he confessed his feelings she told him she was engaged. It was more of an accident - he tried to hold her & convince her that she loved him & when she was pulling away from him she fell onto the birdbath and smacked her head - then staggered away into the pond.

Shouldn't it be obvious there are spoilers in a thread where someone asked, who the killer is?
