an excellent and couragous film

You learn about colonization, you hear about third world countries people being abused, but seeing it as another story.
This film is a big revelator. There is no end to the misery, the only propery of these Africans, and I think the film describe it much better than I could, so I leave
it for you to go to see for yourself.
But, it is incredible how people (not all offcourse) do not have compassion for other people, not belonging to their group. You see, for me this movie was a testimony of
a now-a-days concentration camp. These people suffer from AIDS, from prostitution, drugs, extreme poverty, and hunger, while they have a lake next to them which is a source of food
for more lucky people than them.
I was disgusted from this paradox when I came out of the cinema. The reason for this is our corrupt system of globalism, free trade, where everything is legitimate, and there is no compassion for the weak.
The Europeans eating the fish are not to blame, I imagine the vast majority of them don't imagine what is behind this. The ex-soviet pilots could be understood, if your profession is to fly airplanes, and you have problems feeding your family, you will take on you some missions, and close the eyes. The scene where one of the
pilots talk about him wanting "all the children of the world be happy, but I don't know how to do it", is very touching.
Who is to blame ? I guess there are on the chain some people who do a lot of money on this, whether they are corrupt government officials in Tanzania,
or managers of big companies. What kills me is all this suffering in some kind of way is done for making very very few people very very rich. And those people don't give a damn.

And so I go to IMDb to read a discussion on the subject, and I must say that I am shocked.
Either some people didn't at all understand the film (which I find hard to believe), or a strong sense of guilt masks the heart to open and accept this films message.

This film doesn't blame Europeans for eating this fish, it gives them information of how much it costs. In those days, consumers need to know everything on their consumed products, in order to take a choice who they are buying from.
To me this film's message is:

"wake up there, we are loosing our humanity, we stop to care". And this is exactly the feeling I have while reading "experience" comment of the film.
"experience", thinks this is a Shmaltz movie, manipulating, there are not enough facts, just emotions.
A movie is a creation of film passing messages and emotions. For facts do your research, and please present your results here.
Can you brings facts showing that these people are living comofrtably their nice small lives ?
Can you bring facts that show that no arm dealing is done in Lake Victoria ? Does it really matter if it is done there or 200 km from there ??? 500 km ?
Can you explain why there is a source of food, exporting to Europe and in the same time people are dying from hunger ?

This movie describes a sad situation, but doesn't throw a blaming finger, nor offers a solution.
I wonder what makes you revolt so much against a message like this ? Could it be a hidden sense of guilt ?

Or maybe deep inside you also are just frustrated from not being able to offer a good solution.

Bravo for the film crew for the courage. I guess filming a film like this involves also a lot of risks.

To complete the subject, I warmly recommand "Lord of War".

Really? it just seemd like another "Africa is poor." documentary to me.

did you even see it? Because if you did I would be surprised by your reaction.

The doc was hardly without faults or groundbreaking. It was unfocused and lazy. I gave up after the first 30 minutes due to frustration because the doc was never stayed on topic.
