'Black People Don't Want To Work'

This was a statement made by one of the pilots. You can be certain that he would not step within 5miles of the "fishframe" processing villages. He would not dive in Lake Victoria and get his leg chewed off by a Croc while trying to earn a few cents!

I am astounded that he could make a statement like that. He is fully aware that people earn pennies a day for backbreaking and utterly disgusting work. I have found that a number of people with money can't understand why the rest of the world is not able to make money. Heh. It's really simple, in order for there to be "haves" there must be "have-nots".

There's gold, diamonds, oil and now I have discovered...fish. Like another poster said the majority of the african people do not share in the profits of their labor. I guess it's because they don't want to work.

Some people are more retarded than others. Don't let it get to you.

reply

Majic-Man,
They are retarded enough to allow caucasians to take advantage of them: to steal their resources, to cause conflict among them and to sell them arms, to feed off their backs. If thats not being retarded then what is?
They are just too divided to ever amount to much.
Black-americans hate on Black-africans "how can they come into the states and do so well? Don't they know that africans are forever 'victims'? Obama is not really a son of slavery etc etc". The Tanzanian Filgga guy here complaining about this film's "other side" runs the most disgusting 'discussion' websites hating on other east africans who are proposing some sort of union.
Majic-man, retarded is an understatement :)

I didn't dwell on it. The movie wasn't attacking the people but the system, they wanted us to empathize with all of the people not hate them for who they turned into.

reply

Well, the pilot was a ignorant jerk.

You go to a place which has been decimated by foreign powers and corrupt governments and then you blame the locals for being lazy.... Where have we heard this before?

Oh, that's right. We say the same thing about the poor in our own countries like the States and Canada. It's somehow always the fault of the poor person for not pulling themselves out of poverty.

It's called scapegoating.

reply

I know nothing about people in Africa. However, I have worked among the poor in America. Some of them do have a lot of self sabotaging behaviors.

reply

It's a form of self-justification. You benefit from the system, but need to distance yourself from the crime. Exploitation? Yes it exists but if they wanted to they could throw us out and control they're own lives. It's their own fault. This is the prevailing attitude.
