Great TVZ story

Anyone ever hear the story of him crashing his car into a bar in Texas? Supposedly he was really drunk. The road turned but he didn't. He smashed into the side of the bar, came to rest on the dance floor and then proceeded to get out out of his car and order a drink to wait for the cops. Sounds a little far fetched but somehow I could see it happening.

Stories like that are legion concerning Townes. Just check out the biography "To Live's to Fly" for dozens more. Being a musician in Texas, I have played with or been around other musicians who remember Townes during his heyday and most of them have some pretty interesting stories to tell, as well.
