Convicted of manslaughter

Why would Jilly go to prison for shooting Greg (who died as the result of his own actions)??? I already have trouble believing she would actually be convicted of being an accessory after the fact to the attempted murder of Stephanie, but a jury finding her guilty of murdering Greg while he was trying to kill Stephanie is ludicrous.
