Scrubs UK?

Same music antics (loud music bits with fast-forward finishes). Same video antics (now quick, now slow mo). Same settings, often similar characters -- the bumbling doc, the smart woman doc, etc.

Much of this is try-too-hard comedy. Is this really what Brits like?

‘Is this really what Brits like?’

There is no meaningful generic answer to your generic question so maybe try rephrasing it! Obviously people like it judging by the votes on here so what exactly is your point?

Cute--Scrubs UK. But actually funny as opposed to the other one.

reply

Apparently. Slow mo then fast, with music mixed in.

Both shows are good, Scrubs is much lighter humour with overly patronising "life lessons". The only real similarity is they are both set in Hospitals, Green Wing is darker but the musical interludes grow tiresome and soon become an annoyance rather then a benefit.

Overall both shows I enjoy, claiming either one as US comedy or UK comedy is irrelevant, comedy is comedy, you either like it or you don't. Neither show can be claimed to be a copy (Green Wing was written years ago but not filmed until much later).

I understand the desire to try and "one up" each other but there is good and bad comedy on both sides of the Atlantic, 90% or more of US shows now are copies or remakes of European shows but there are still good shows being made in the US. UK excels at comedy because they do not have the large budgets to make a huge amount of quality dramas/films (though there are some still around).

I'd love to hear your opinions on Picasso too.
