Lataevia and Mustafa... teenaged Cleveland victims

Lataevia was the victim in "Birthday Girl"...a really pretty 14 year old girl who got killed in a gang shootout at her birthday party. I remember watching this episode when it first aired, and I was even more sad when, in a later episode, Mustafa McWhorter was killed and they revealed that he was a friend of Lataevia's. After her murder, he started protesting violence and bullying, and then he was killed outside of the library. Remember these cases?

Well tonight I was watching the update on the episode about Lataevia, and one of the people who was convicted of her murder was Jeffrey MCWHORTER. Does anybody know if he's related to Mustafa at all?
