Fingersmith: What happens next?

What do you imagine happens to Maud and Sue after the movie ends? In the final scene in the library, Maud declares her love for Sue and they kiss.

Where do their lives go after that? What do they do immediately after the kiss?

reply

i imagine that Maud says something to sue like"you must be hungry traveling all the way from london." And they go and eat something. Then hurry upstairs...and you know what happens next.

And in time they move to London to satisfy Mauds hunger for the city.

Yes, same sweet ending. If you want to read some stories of possible events after the *official* ending then there is a great website with new fingersmith fanfiction at www.fingersmithfever.com
It's updated regularly and has other fingersmith-related stuff too such as artwork and poetry.
Check it out!

I think they will stay in that house, Maud already experiment lives in London after marry, it didn't turn out the way her thoughts of London. I think they will be happy in that house when her uncle no longer there.

reply

I agree. I think they will live it the house. Sue has nothing to go back for.

reply

sue has dainty and charley wag, her dog to go back for. in the book, she told dainty to keep charley wag for her.

i always wondered the same thing what happened after the movie ends. maybe could imagine a sequel to it and start writing the fanfiction haha

reply

No i really think they go and have a fresh start in London, staying in that house just defeats the whole point of Maud wanting to escape it.

"why don't you have pudding after breakfast?"

reply

There are a lot of fan fic out there on what happen next but only SW know what actually happen next.

reply

I definitely think that they would quickly move to London. Sue is comfortable there and Maud wants to escape Briar.

Maud wanted to escape Briar. That didn't work out too well for her. Absent her uncle, it's possible the place will be less hellish for her ...

It's okay, Dainty and Charley Wag can wait. I'm sure Sue and Maud would go visit them on the weekends or holidays or something.

I don't intend to be offensive, but I have to defend my opinions.

Probably go find a room, rip of the clothes and go at it.

What about the financial situation? To the world Maud is still the heiress of the family fortune and the mistress of Briar.
