SPOILER - What were the motives?

I watched both the first and the last episodes but mist some in the middle. So while I'm aware of the main plot and how it ended, I have no idea WHY Bruno went on the killing spree.

Having seen the first episodes, I know of course what happened in school when the four pupils were burned to death but what was their connection to Bruno and why did he kill such a huge number of people. The teacher, Renzo, Laura, Benitez - sure, I understand that he thought them responsible but all those deaths? And most of all, once again, what was his connection and feelings?

HELP HELP HELP

I'm a big fan of this show, but I only got to see half the first season.

Anyway, my question is this, an opera (or parts of one) were playing when the killer was torturing his victims in his lair or whatever, does anyone know what theme or opera it was?

I thought maybe it'd be in the credits or on the box if someone has the box set, I just can't afford to buy it myself but I'd like to see if I can buy a CD of the opera somewhere.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

The opera is "Carmen" by Bizet.

One of the dead students was Bruno's boyfriend.

Yes, one of the students killed in the beginning was Bruno's boyfriend, so Bruno was killing everyone he thought had contributed to his boyfriend's death. I think he was the student that Laura sent back to the classroom with the crazy teacher.

Trent: Do you ever feel like you're wasting your life?
Daria: Only when I'm awake.
