Do Latin people find Julio Chavez hot?

To me he looks seedy and out of shape, with his big belly and nasty fringe and bald spot, but he's the leading man, and the love interest to a beautiful girl .... and they give him at least one overlong sex scene with her.

I have no problem with his acting, but I wish he'd button up his damn shirt. He always has the top nine buttons undone, and that stupid necklace showing.

Young Argentinian men can be extremely attractive, but if you're still considered attractive at Chavez's age and looking like Chavez, I presume they don't mind letting themselves go. Why marry a hot young Argentinian athlete, knowing he's going to settle into a testy macho middle age and never do another pushup or crunch?

He always looks as if he needs a bath, too. And it's not as if he's nice to his co-workers. He isn't even that good at his job. He doesn't save one single victim except maybe Marina, if she counts. And, of course, himself. Wasn't that big of him?

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. Gandhi.

No. He's a great actor, and I've heard some say his voice is sexy, but he's not supposed to be a stud, he's supposed to be a every-day guy. And, excuse me, but you make it sound like men worldwide didn't have beer bellies or bald spots when they reach middle age, and you're only now observing that extrange phenomenon. It's as if I went to a NYPD Blue board asking if all USA men end up like Dennis Franz. Like everywhere, actors are allowed to let themselves go, actresses pass their expiration day the second their first wrinkle or extra pound appears, unless they're by that time really, really famous (like Cecilia Roth).

In regard of Renzo, I think he's unlikable on purpose. He was supposed to be a good cop in his day, before the accident, but even then I imagine he was boosted up by his father's reputation, who you could see was indeed a great cop and still is. He's like a second-hand, or third world, if you prefer, version of Jack Bauer. He just gets people killed, and catches the bad guy at the end, usually by following the ever-increasing bodies.

First of all, I don't think all leading men in movies or series must necessarily "be hot" (or, in other words, respond to a specific definition of beauty). Also, would you marry someone because they're hot and young? People grow older, people change, it's a fact of life.
Second, he is supposed to look like an out of shape cop. He's a former policeman who's now a taxi driver. And "that stupid necklace" has a relevance at a narrative level. It's called characterization and it serves dramatic purposes.
"And it's not as if he's nice to his co-workers. He isn't even that good at his job." That's because he's more of an anti-hero than an archetypical traditional hero. Again, characterization.
That said, I consider him attractive and one of the best actors (if not the best actor) from my country. For all I can see he's a very hard working and humble guy. He has a deep sense of humanity and it shows on the realism he brings to all his characters.
