i think that in order to bring back "brandy and mr whiskers"
Several things must be taken into account:

1] brandy and whiskers landed on a island
[same exact plot as the live action show lost]

2] they met some friends [ed,lola, the two toucans]

3] they met a gecko named gasbar and some apes

point being:

brandy and her friends HAVE NO Adult Animals HELPING Her and her friends find what they need to survive on that island

SO here are a few suggestions to resurrect brandy and mr whiskers

1] since the earlier theme was a congo theme,
the new theme should be beethovenish thene [for example, ode to joy]

2] re cast brandy harrington
and i'm talking about anybody who might be willing to step in to the role that kaley cuoco created
this includes both the kim possible voice talent chris carlson romano
, and miley cyrus [hannah montana]

3] either bring back charlie adler as whiskers with a different voice as his brain
or someone else has to play him ,

4] there needs to be more stretched out storylines
so there would be two part, three part, four part, or even five part storylines

5] they need to add new characters

there has to be a new syndicated "disney afternoon" lineup
that local channels like ktzz can play

this new lineup would consist of :
the return of "brandy and mr whiskers"
and four or five other cartoons

in which this lineup would be for either ktzz or kstw
because given their programing droughts
i am not surprised if they do any new weekday cartoons

so case in point: the cartoon people need to do their part
to bring to the local tv stations new cartoons
including this one back from cancellation

I agree with the thread starter. They need to add more characters. =\

for instance, picture the plane crash at the beginning
of the first season of lost

if they had a "brandy and whiskers" three part episode,
where they had a second plane
but this plane was with additional people that would have gone on the first plane
at the beginning of the series
this second plane, which is like a modern day noah's ark,
is on a course to land in the amazon
and animals are controlling it

my point about storylines is, it doesn't matter what kinds of storylines that these people write
it just depends on the length of the story

now, as for disney channel itself
what they need to do for earlier seasons of brandy and mr whiskers and other cartoons is That they need to bring the earlier seasons of "brandy and mr whiskers" as well as older disney cartoons to syndication
like say on local channels like kstw's cw11, or ktzz's myq2
and all of the cartoons that would play in syndication
would also be seen on disney channel also

as i said on my earlier post, in order to ressurect this series,
the disney writers need to either bring back a lot of the original cast
or half and half, some of the original cast, some new cast
that means, if they go in the half and half approach, you would not see kaley cuoco reprise her version of brandy harrington unless she did tv movies
because what i envision in ressurecting this cartoon is, that maybe miley cyrus should takeover cuoco's "brandy harrington" role ,
in a james bond aspect,philisophically speaking,
anybody can play brandy harrington, even live action children's sitcom people like miley cyrus who has the same aspects as kaley cuoco
but a lot more nicer to people

disney should make "brandy and mr whiskers" tv movies
and
they should also make new episodes of "whiskers", with the help of the viewers
