Stupid People

This movie proves once and for all that smokers and stupid people (basically the same anyway) will ruin everything for humanity. Stupid people can't think before they act, and stupid people will behave like animals when it comes down to it.

Therefore I really disliked what the voice-over was saying, he stated that we ALL would just be animals. No, we wouldn't; HE would, and especially his junkie 'friend' would. Stupid idiots will go around raping, looting and fighting each other over nothing. Smart reasonable people will try and find ways out of it and save others from a possible water shortage. They will look for ways to survive the crisis. And yes, they will still behave civilized under pressures like those portrayed in this movie.
I found this movie was missing that. It is made from the assumption that humans are ALL idiots and fools, while they're not. Probably the writer isn't that smart himself, he can't imagine intelligent and sensible people would exist out there.

Basically, this is a movie by and for stupid people.

I would disagree. Whilst the film isn't complex, I think you're missing the point. The narrarator and his pot smoking friend aren't the only complex ones. The Indian and his girlfriend aren't going around acting like animals. Most of the Indian's in the movie were quite peaceful actually. The mother of the little girl didn't act animalistic in any way. In fact the only main characters I would say that did would be the one army man (not the husband but the younger chap) and the pot smoking guy.

I just saw what the narrarator speaking saying was "his voice" not the writer's. I didn't see it as some big overall message that we're all animalistic. The story is told through that character's eyes and that's the way he views the world because his stupid pot smoking friend just made a huge mistake and went ballistic during a world crises. Something very reasonable you could see human beings doing.

Not everyone in the movie did this.

I think you're missing the point.

Hey, Buddy, you missed a big part of the complexity of the story. The family in the story are Sikhs from Inida and are definitely NOT Arab. Actually, they aren't even Muslims (although there is a large Muslim minority in India). They are called "sand *beep* by a stupid person who assumes they are Arab Muslims, but they definitely are not.

To be clear, Arabs are people from Arabic speaking countries - roughly the area from Iraq to Morocco. Most are Muslim, but there is a significant Christian minority and a smaller Jewish minority that used to live throughout the Arab world and now mostly now lives in Israel. Most of the world's Muslims live outside the Arab world in places like Iran, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, China, and Indonesia (the world's largest Muslim country). Sikhism is a completely different faith tradition traced mostly to the Punjab region of India. There are about 23 million Sikhs in the world.

To me it felt like beginners work. I do think that who ever wrote/directed this could later on make something worthwhile. This felt a bit amateur-ish. As for saying this movie is for and by stupid people I don't agree. I don't agree because it tried to make important points they just lacked a certain realism when portrayed in this film.

Also by saying that all smokers and stupid people will ruin everything for humanity, with out any reference from a real life experience makes you look kinda stupid, hence explaining why you watched this right? (note: I didn't think it was stupid, but I did feel it could've used some more work)

rofl, I think you nailed most of the major points on the movie. They should have stopped this one halfway through and made it into a comedy it was so stupid.

Face it, smokers ARE stupid people. The sooner we realize that, the better movies will become. And no matter what you think, it WAS a movie by and for stupid people. I could not relate to any of the actors, or the directing.
