a very clever film

i watched this film a while back after having wanted to see it for a long time and i had very mixed responses by the time it had finished. it started as fantastic with the banter between steve coogan and rob brydon about teeth, but then took a somewhat downwards turn in my eyes. in reality it is an incredibly clever and well done film, but i thought it was too well done. i found too much of the focus was on creating the film and the trouble the producers had, and not on actually being a film in its own right. to be fair i think this is what the director intended it to be, but i think that it was the wrong way to do it

I loved this movie. It was so funny. And I loved Shirley Henderson and Kelly Macdonald especially. I really wasn't expecting much, and then I spent the whole evening laughing. Total treat.

Ditto on everything. everyone above me has said

"Dont let it end like this... tell them I said something."

I thought the parts from the actual film they were making were the funniest parts of the film. Had they focused more on that aspect instead of all the behind-the-scenes/just-off-set stuff, it could've been as brilliant as "24-Hour Party People" (not likely, but one never knows). Still quite good, though, and much more satisfying than any big-studio 'comedy.'

I just found myself expecting so much more actually about tristram shandy, but i suppose as the novel is deemed so unfilmable it would've made it kinda difficult

I thing the film rather fizzled out. Rather bored by the end.

Its that man again!!

I like this movie a lot. It's almost as good as 24 Hours Party People. I'll definitely check out other movies by M. Winterbottom.
