Excellent movie....but.. SPOILER

I enjoyed seeing this movie very much, excellent cast, good dialog and a story well worth telling. But...and it's a huge but...I kept having the question nagging at me "Why doesn't she just go to live with or near her older brother with the Russian wife?" The brother was obviously doing well, he said his wife was director of a large hospital, so he could help his sister. That would probably mean estrangement from her father, but she was not going to be seeing him again if she married and went to live in Syria.

Second nagging question...why would she not be able to see her family again if she married the Syrian man? Syrians can travel to neutral countries, just not Israel, so she and Amal could arrange to meet in Lebanon or Jordan or someplace for family visits.

I'd like to hear comments about these possible plot holes from someone who liked tha movie as much as I did and didn't feel these questions nagging at them. Thanks.

My favorite opera is Die Valkure. I've always loved horses.

Never seen this movie but the ultimate question is why would she marry someone she's never met before?
