I must have seen the R rated version because it was less that 90 minutes. I agree with the writer/director that the studio cut too much at the end of this version because it was confusing & disjointed. Last time I saw Charlotte, she had sex with the photographer then walked in his bathroom, then the photographer grooms himself in the same bathroom, but Charlotte isn't in there. Right after that the little girl shows up & looks for Charlotte, but the photographer is torturing someone other than Charlotte in the basement (a blonde with a chainsaw). Did he ever take Charlotte into the basement & was she dead? Or did she just leave his house & that scene was cut in this version for some reason?

man, shoot. i saw the "director's cut" and I couldn't make any more sense of the damn thing.

I think it was a bit confusing too. But I interpreted it in two ways: as the mind of the photographer; In the end he can’t keep up the body count or where he killed them. It is showing his confusing and fractured mind.
My second interpretation is that Jade is having a nightmare as she wakes up screaming.

I know it might be some hollow interpretations, but Nick Palumbo doesn’t help understanding the ending.

even the uncut version I ordered from Frightflix about three years ago or so seemed to be pretty disjointed. I really wanted to like the movie. I even watched the DVD twice but it just isn't very good.

I couldn't for the life me figure out what happened to jade. I even rewound few times just to make sure i didn't miss her either being killed or at least leaving the house but apparently she just vanished after all.
