Plot holes or just me being dumb?

I hope just as many as you are just as confused with this film as I am?

1. If he is a Nazi, why is he only killing white girls?

2. Did anyone figure out the last 5-10 minutes?

3. What is the meaning of the pointless dialogue going nowhere? example: "This is an evil generation"; fair enough, but WHY is it an evil generation?

4. Why is the photographer getting a taste of killing children all the sudden? It has nothing to do with his mother complex?

5. What is the point of adult video store scene to rent a snuff film? It doesn't go ANYWHERE!! Maybe Nick Palumbo just wanted Tony Todd to be in the movie!? It is an okay cool scene, but it is 100 percent unnecessary for the story?

6. Why is the acting so horribly bad!!!? (except for Jade Risser)

1. If he is a Nazi, why is he only killing white girls?

He is more of a psycho that likes the negative association with Naziism. In the movie this is a ripoff off, Harry Russo makes a lot of random anti-semetic rants for no particular reason.

2. Did anyone figure out the last 5-10 minutes?

What in particular? I don't remember anything confusing but I wasn't looking for a lot of sense to anything. All I remember is he tried seducing more victims with his photography. Pretty much what he was doing the entire film. So I guess I need you to remind me of the ending and what you are referring to.

3. What is the meaning of the pointless dialogue going nowhere? example: "This is an evil generation"; fair enough, but WHY is it an evil generation?

I think Nick Palumbo just wrote some crap without any any particular point or structure.

4. Why is the photographer getting a taste of killing children all the sudden? It has nothing to do with his mother complex?

He's just a psycho with random impulses that get stronger at times. Nothing deep here.

5. What is the point of adult video store scene to rent a snuff film? It doesn't go ANYWHERE!! Maybe Nick Palumbo just wanted Tony Todd to be in the movie!? It is an okay cool scene, but it is 100 percent unnecessary for the story?

He asks for Nutbag which is a film Nick Palumbo made. Nick Palumbo wanted to include a big Nutbag reference by making it the point of a scene.

This scene was incredibly stupid. The place just happens to get robbed when he is there? This is the most stupid scene in the film in my opinion.

6. Why is the acting so horribly bad!!!? (except for Jade Risser)

I didn't mind the acting but obviously Nick Palumbo didn't cast for performance, more for people willing to do the material. It's obvious so you must have this one as a rhetorical question.

1. I'm not familiar with Harry Russo, but I just think it is stupid to make him a Nazi. I think this was just to give us, the audience, negative associations of evil. The mother complex I can relate to and was a lot better.

2. Last time I saw Charlotte, she had sex with The Photographer then walked in his bathroom, then he grooms himself in the same bathroom, but Charlotte isn't in there. Right after that, Jade shows up and looks for Charlotte, but The Photographer is torturing someone other than Charlotte in the basement (a blonde with a chainsaw). Did he ever take Charlotte into the basement and was she dead? Or did she just leave his house? Jade is saying 'Charlotte' all the time, and I never figured out if he killed her?

3. And there lies my problem. It is frustrating to watch a serial killer movie going nowhere. He tells us "Going to Hell is easy, it's getting out that's hard". But the problem is that The Photographer doesn't WANT to get out. It is rediciously written and the main problem with the film. I love serial killer films, but they need some kind of development to be interesting and not just pointless written crap-dialogue. I'm sorry that Nick didn't put more effort into MSP.

4. Again, he is just a psycho. There is not scene building and no interest in making us care about the victims. I chuckled through some of the murders - though I still think the baby scene is tasteless. You can't tell an 18 month old baby how to act, and you can see that the baby definitly isn't comfortable with the scene. The terror in her face is evident as she toddles through the apartment to her mother’s bloodied corpse. A child of that age can’t be directed how to act, her fear is most definitely real. The baby girl is the daughter of MSP cinematographer, Brendan Flynt and the ‘dead’ mother is her real-life mother. That kid may have issues in later life. Tasteless and most of all pointless.

5. Exactly! The scene just referes to Nutbag (which I saw about a year ago, and it is possibly much worse that MSP). I think a desperate Nick wanted us to know: "Oh, oh, I have made another film. It is refered to as being a snuff film! See it! Please!!!". Redicilous and unnessecary scene.

6. Yes, it was a rhetorical question :-) Unfortunately, bad acting is not helping me taking the film serious.

Did you watch the R or full version?

I am not sure which version Netflix sent.

I don't remember all the scenes you mentioned and I don't remember any character names at all.

I don't think I put the effort into understanding the movie or looking for rhyme and reason that you did.

I didn't know Brendan Flynt of Troma fame was involved in this until your message.

I also didn't realize Gunnar Hansen was in here until I read the credits. I like a lot of obscure movies and Gunnar Hansen and the big horror films aren't my idols so I miss a lot of these.

I don't know who Tony Todd is.

#5 You are right. He is totally promoting Nutbag with this scene. It was an incredibly stupid scene. There just happens to be the photographer nutjob causing problems and robbers just happen to come in. It was so out of left field and unlikely. Just plain bad storywriting.

Some of my above, was not in response to what you said, just throwing out more comments abot this movie.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the Harry Russo movies which this is a total ripoff of. By your reaction to this movie, I don't think you'd like the Harry Russo movies either. Just psychotic offensive nuttiness for the sake of psychotic nuttiness. But Harry Russo is a lot more fun in my opinion. Admittedly, Harry Russo is stupid offensiveness for the sake of it. This movie took those movies main character, actually made him a little more mild, added a constant nosebleed and made an incoherent random "story" just to have him do his psychotic things within.

I am not sure if I don't remember the scenes in detail that you mentioned because I am not shockable and it all blended in with all the other nonsense in this movie or if I watched the lighter version.

The Harry Russo films were made maybe for $1000 each, if that. I'm assuming they didn't pay for actors or any locations. I don't know how much money they spent for a fact, I am just guessing.

Anyway, I agree with all your points. Those things aren't necessary for my enjoyment. My conclusion is the same though. I didn't like MSP very much. It was rather boring and everything just reminded me of it being done funnier in the Harry Russo movies.
