Go Goering!

I own the original Fright Flix director's cut DVD. It's the only version I've actually seen but I believe it differs from the more recently released director's cut version in an interesting way: the executive producer credits. Those credited on my version are Joseph Goebbels, Robert Ley, Herman Goering and Heinrich Himmler. Four long dead Nazis. Whoever deserved the actual credit gets no mention. I seem to remember reading at the time I bought it that this was the reason for it going out of print though such information is now hard to find.

IMDB lists some other guys as executive producers now so I'm assuming they're the people who actually deserve the credit. IMDB, however, also lists Herman Goering with them and as a result he has his own IMDB page with one production credit. Funny stuff.

Anywho, thought I'd throw this out there since IMDB's trivia page mentions none of this.

That is kind of cool. Where did you get the info on them being Nazi's? And what do you think the reasoning was for this?

Forget about the Nazi question. I figured that out for myself. Still, I find that pretty odd.

Jesus Christ, pick up a history book. Smh

He did that because he said the directors were acting like Nazi's. I don't remember the specifics but if you listen to the commentary he explains it.

He also gave "very special thanks" to Leni Riefenstahl and Roman Polanski in the credits. A Nazi propaganda artist and a child rapist. Yikes...

reply

I didn't notice that but it makes sense in keeping with the Nazi theme considering that Polanski is a Holocaust survivor albeit one who hasn't deserved any sympathy for over 40 years.
