MUPPET WIZARD OF OZ????

I can't believe that Henson productions is doing a Muppet Wizard of Oz! I just have one question about this? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO IS PLAYING WHAT PART? The only thing I really know is what IMBD is telling us...but I would like to know which of the muppets is going to play which part...And secondly...is Kirmet in it?? I don't see his name on the cast list...

This is what I heard:
Kermit is the Scarecrow
Fozzie is the cowardly Lion
Gonzo is the Tinman
Miss Piggy is Glinda & the Wicked Witch of the West

Beyond that I haven't a clue

Your quote has me very confused.... I like it! Haven't we met before? Your name looks very familiar.

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask and he'll tell you the truth.

Hello there, Jthegoblinking! I'm sure we probably have met before, but where I'm not sure. Of course I could be mistaken, there are many max's around. Thanks for the comment on the quote. It is meant to confuse and I'm glad it served its purpose! Where's your quote from - it sounds familiar?

Mine is from the nineteenth century author, Oscar Wilde- author of The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Canterville Ghost, the importance of being Earnist, as well as several poems and short stories...

That's funny. I was at Westminster Abbey today (I'm in England on a school exchange program) and there was Oscar Wilde's name on a piece of stained glass right above Christopher Marlowe's name in Poet's corner - that this section of the abbey which is nothing but stones tributes and statues of famous writers.

That's interesting. I love Oscar Wilde.

How many of the movie versions of the Canterville Ghost have you seen? So far I've only found one that was somewhat close to original story...two, if you count the updated one with Patrick Stewart and Neve Cambell.

I saw the Patrick Stewart one when it aired on ABC, an old technicolour one that I think was made for TV and an animated version that I caught it on The Disney channel. It looked pretty cheaply made.

The technicolour one was one of my favorite films when I was little. I've never seen the cartoon one all the way througn (i've seen about a minute of it) and I've seen the one was Alissa Milano where they change Virgina's name to Jessica cause it was more 80s friendly. Still a fun movie though. The closest to the origial is this one that was made recentlyby some british company...I don't know, probaly the BBC made it.

I think it's ironic that they changed her name to Jessica in the eighties to be more modern yet in the NBC mini-series of The 10th Kingdom (taking place in the year 2000) the lead character was named Virginia.

Wasn't the original "Canterville Ghost" with Charles Laughton?

reply

Yes along with Margaret O'Brian and Robert Young. Oh, I was wrong too. In that one Virginia is Jessica. In the Alyssa Milano one she's Jennifer.
