What parts are comedy?

I haven't seen this yet but I don't know whether I should. I like comedy horror that sometimes have over the top gore but when I looked at the trailer it didn't seem much like a comedy horror, so I'm just asking what part of this movie is comedy?

reply

it's constant.

There are numerous witty lines and the character dialogue is funny

Depending on your sense of humor, your millage may vary. To me, the movie is trying waaaaaay too hard to be funny to where it's just cringe inducing. The jokes feel like they were from rejected Irate Gamer scripts. The movie overall felt tedious and painful to watch. If you want a real proper horror comedy, then watch something good like Club Dread, where the writers and actors have an actual understanding of comedy. Hatchet is just some sad sack who went through a break up and his friend, the sassy black guy saying lines like "that's about as fun as a bag of dicks." If that doesn't entice you, then it won't be a fun movie to sit through.

For some reason you sound as honest as a honest man/woman could be.

I feel the opposite way. This was an over the top homage to 80s slasher flicks and knows what it is. Whereas club dread seemed like it was written by somebody who had only seen a few horror movies and thought they were being funny when it was just tedious and inane. The comedy in that movie is dreadful and this is coming from someone who like broken lizard movies for the most part.

So there ya go. The only way to know is to watch them both and decide. Happy Halloween!

Oh no, check it out. There are numerous funny bits, one of my favorited involving Tony Todd in the beginning. If you know of Tony Todd and what he's famous for, that scene alone is worth the price of admission.

Plus, the movie's chock full of "hey I know that guy/girl from..."
