I have no large intentions of seeing this movie, but I am curious as to what the ending is.
I've searched for a while on the internet, gaining a lot of information about the plot,
but none of the sources give any spoilers about the ending.
So, yeah, basically I'm asking FOR spoilers.

I don't think M Night ripped off this movie. This movie features way too much sci-fi and post-apocalyptic settings that we don't see in any trailers for Devil.
*SPOILERS INCOMING*
Here is the ending for those who don't want to sit through this movie, though it's a decent popcorn flick and worth checking out: The girl lead who we thought was a victim was actually a murderer/criminal and set to the level "above zero." In this apocalyptic world, there are thousands of floors below the ground where people live and the elevator is like a bullet train through them.
The twist is when she gets to this level, it turns out to be modern day Tokyo. So the movie essentially is saying all these people are living underground either A. for no reason or B. because the surface world is just where it dumps its criminals.
