Anyone else think Alec Trevelyan should have been the main character?

Just curious. It was not like they were sticking completely to the established canon of the films, and were sort of doing an "Ultimate Universe" kind of tale with regards to the use of classic Bond characters. Trevelyan is essentially "Anti-Bond" and was from the film GOLDENEYE noless. Agent GoldenEye and Alec have a couple of similarities anyway. I think they could have fit a variation of the character as the lead here. Things would have to be tweaked here and there for it to work, but I think you could've kept the story basically the same with him.
