The real Diane Arbus, was married to photographer turned actor Alan Arbus. Arbus had a reoccurring role on the hit TV series MASH as psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Freedman.

Alan incidentally looks NOTHING like Ty Burrell who portrays him in this film.
