ehh, the ending...

Just watched it on TV...
What was with the ending? The very last scene with Mickael and Vanessa and all these kids having a water fight at some camping ground. The last shot is of Vanessa, getting splattered with water.
Hmmm, I'm confused. Strange ending.

After Vanessa threw him out of the dressing room, I took it as Mikael remembering their shared past at age seven, a waterfight between young Mikael and with young Vanessa. Into that memory he interpolated Vanessa as she is now, somehow hoping that time could be unwound and things could go back the way they were.

Ahh, ok.
Right, thanks :)

That is an interesting interpretation of the ending. I watched it again and felt that Vanessa was simply moving on to new relationships!

I watched the ending again and it's definetely not Mickael with whom she plays. I feel like she's moving on to new relationships as well. She's been portrayed very open and free in the movie and this scene shows it best. Whereas Mickael is more calm. In his last scene with see him alone in his bike.

It seems that she did move on. Don't forget that one of the main themes is water. So the water guns kind of make sense. It was in fact another cold shower. And Mickael's last monologue he speaks of changing and dealing with. I guess he took his mistakes and Vanessa's liberty as a certain.
