It is very similar to another scene when you see Garcia looking at the man he wants to kill... So I think the girl at the bar wants to kill Garcia to get his job, just as Garcia did earlier in the film, endless story, Gracia is now the man to kill, and soon the girl at the bar will be the one to kill...
So that's how I understand it!

I think that it is the same woman who made the interview... and as García got the job, she was fired, and wants to work with him. It just ends this way to look like a Hopper picture, just another of the many gratituous allegories that adds lots of fun to a very funny movie.

It as a great film - I don't think it is the same woman - the interview woman had glasses on, but she was there to kill him. A nice twist. In desperate times, what seems desperate becomes common and acceptable to many.

i agree on both counts: (1) it's a great film; (2) it's not the woman who interviewed him, it's another woman with a plan (which he suspects to be) similar to his.

they are not the same women. The first woman is called Iris Thompson and the second is credited with the name "la prédatrice" or the predator. Great film!

They did know eachother. She knew him as the man who had the job she wanted and he knew her as the one who was going to try and take it from him, as he had done.

Sure this woman was not the interviewer. And if she's credited as "predator" the new-executive-killer-who-wants-to-kill-the-former-executive-killer theory is valid.

But the scene is curious anyway...first: they seem to know each other. Why? If he know she is there to kill him, why he does he stay so calm?The men he killed didn't know him. Second: Is it my impression or he asks for cigarettes? He doesn't smoke. I mean, at least he wasn't a smoker before.

i had the exact same thought as the movie finished.and i must admit i had the same feelings of satisfaction while watching the ending scenes of both movies

I think the woman, either she aims to get his job or not, is there to show how paranoid he became after all. Starting smoking is also another sign of his restless mind. Great film anyway.

Le Prédatrice is the female raport/predator, in this page http://www.thelin.net/laurent/cinema/films/tt0422015.html , can you see the cast and she has only has this scene.
Conclusion, Open, but we know at least that Bruno knows that now he is the target.

I think we have to look at the end - as to the whole movie - as an coment to society today. It has nothing to do whith the to individuals in the end, it´s a way of saying that everything continues in this (capitalist) socity. It´s cyclic, Bruno has escaped unemployment, family is happy, life back on track, he as the man is back in charge, everything is good... but is the problem of what creates this realy solved. The answer in the end is no - now somone else is thrown out and after his jobb. His enemy, competing whit him. It creates a bad society, whith fear etc.

So my conclusion: change society to solve problem.

It´s an exelent movie.

Sorry for many words to explain what i think, my written english is not the best.

Excellent film, Hands down to the whole crew. Now coming to the topic, Yes the woman is the predator and Bruno Davert is her prey, Its just the survival of the fitest theory....

He even wore the same jacket as machefer. (as when bruno was spotting him in that very same establishment.)

Somewhere in the movie capitalism is called "the beast with the always open mouth" (meaning it's always hungry).

Evidently after having killed his competitor's the game is ended for Bruno, but not for the cometition in general so he now becomes a target for the remaining competition and so on...

Thanks for the translation. The parallels between world wars and personal or societal wars is interesting. Predator and prey are often interchangeable.

The woman at the end is stalking him because she wants to kill him, just as he killed the others. Hopefully, she succeeds.
