Brazilians and TNA

I just read this and laughed. I guess, if true, TNA won't be doing any shows in Brazil.

"At one point, a tour group of hundreds of Brazilian tourists came in to help fill the venue. TNA were so excited they had the building half-full, they rearranged the match order of the taping to have one episode’s main event in front of this new large crowd. Thing is, “half-way through the match, all the Brazilians got up in unison and left." "

This link opens the IMDb message boards page. Where and when did this show take place?

I got the same thing too.Right back to IMDb instead of where it was supposed to go. Wierd.

I would love to been there to see that. The reactions of everyone from TNA had to be priceless.

I hope anblq10 can get us more info on this. I would really like to know what caused the entire audience to just up and leave.

I believed I fixed the link in the original post, so try it out now.

Either way, this was from the most recent tapings for TNA under Anthem. Not sure which set of tapings and for which main event match this happened in. And if TNA is smart, they'll limit the crowd shots if this actually happened.

Thanks for fixing the link. Now I can see what the new Impact Wrestling logo looks like too.

Anthem will have to do some editing to try and hide the sudden disappearance of those tourists. I'm doubting that we'll have find out why they up and left. I was thinking that maybe they were on a schedule and had to get on their way to the next destination.

I heard about this and it was not really reported well online. It does bring up a big issue with what Anthem is continuing to do with TNA and that is booking shows for free in the Impact Zone where they cannot charge for tickets and they get an influx of non-wrestling fans attending the shows. The only cure for this would be for the company to permanently leave the Impact Zone and to plant a flag and try to build a territory. Anthem would have to invest in a new set that they could break down and build up as well as renting TV production equipment, but if they do it well the return on investment (especially if they can build a fan base with an alternative product) is really unlimited. Unfortunately, I just don't think that Anthem at this point is ready to adopt a new business model with the company. But I will be interested to see where they take things in the near future.
