When was the "jump the shark" moment for "The Soup"?

Since the show is ending pretty soon:
*When Joel McHale started working on Community and therefore, The Soup was no longer his "top priority".

*Tosh.0 came along and provided arguably, a funnier, more cutting-edge approach to the basic cable, "host stands behind a green screen" and makes fun of clips" show.

*The show started getting so popular that it became routine for one of Joel's celebrity "friends" to walk on and help him do commentary.

*Spin-offs like Web Soup, The Dish, and Sports Soup further watering things down.

*When E! moved the show from Fridays to Wednesdays.

I vote "NEVER Jumped"

I also vote E! is a network made up of complete and total IDIOTS!!

Don't say anything bad about Jojo

I don't know that it HAS jumped. I would agree that there are some episodes that are "off" ... for instance, the NASCAR episode was painful ... but overall it's still really enjoyable!

I'd say my main disappointment is that I enjoy getting to see clips of shows because let's be honest ? there's not enough time in the day to watch EVERYTHING out there. Plus I don't really want to watch the Kardashians or Vanderpump Rules or the Alaskan gold diggers ... but I LOVE seeing clips.

The only negative comment I'll make is that Joel is consistently making jokes about E or their schedule or their entertainment hosts ... and, while I enjoy the hell out of it, you can only bite the hand that feeds you so many times.

You'll be missed, Soup ...

There isn't one. Sometimes I wish they cut back on their sketches and choose celebrities who can read a cue card but it's always entertaining.

I don't think a show like this can really jump the shark because it's just a clip show

-How many times do you have to make the same mistake?
-Till I get it right.

That's a cop out answer! So just because it's a "clip show", it isn't able or immune to somehow declining in quality like any other TV show!?

That's not jumping the shark; people throw that phrase around way too often. Happy Days obviously had that defining moment and The Brady Bunch did as well with cousin Oliver but I'd say most shows don't have a specific scene that can be pinpointed as the definitive downfall of the series.

Sorry- just personal opinion, but if you're referring to the jokes between clips, it seems the same as always. The main thing that changed was the amount of guest stars. But the format/humor is the same

Daniel Tosh isn't funny and Tosh.0 sucks balls.

I vote when people showed up for sketches and to promote their projects. They were rarely funny, could be time consuming, and I wanted to see clips, not sketches. Joel had good commentary and funny comments, rarely did one of his guests. It seemed like it began taking up more and more of the show.

The time move also was a bad idea. At least for me it made watch less.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

My conspiracy theory is the flopping of The Comment Section. It makes no sense joel going from producing two shows to none within months. It has to be a payback.

never

"*Tosh.0 came along and provided arguably, a funnier, more cutting-edge approach to the basic cable, "host stands behind a green screen" and makes fun of clips" show. "

let me guess, you prefered mad tv over snl.

"*Spin-offs like Web Soup, The Dish, and Sports Soup further watering things down. "

yeah, not watching those wasn't even an option, right?

"*When E! moved the show from Fridays to Wednesdays. "

everybody knows that things that are funny on one day of the week totally donÄt work when moved.

The jokes and bits got a bit stale the final few seasons.
