Launched in 1991 as Talk Soup, the series kicked off the careers of hosts Greg Kinnear (1991–95), John Henson (1995–99), Hal Sparks (1999–2000) and Aisha Tyler (2001–02). It was rebooted as The Soup in 2004 with McHale.
As Joel said in the last episode, he has been the ONLY host of The Soup since it premiered in 2004.
You're referring to Talk Soup, which ended in 2002. That was a completely different show. Why would they show up, they had no affiliation with this show.

Yup, that has always been Joel's pet peeve during his entire hosting stint, when the media and other outlets would continually and incorrectly call it Talk Soup and he would repeat that Talk Soup was cancelled years ago and his show is The Soup.
A few years ago though, he did have Aisha Tyler on and another former host of Talk Soup. But it was a joke.
The Soup and Talk Soup are two different shows and I was a fan of both. Joel was the only host of The Soup so there aren't any others.

I was a HUGE fan of John Henson when he hosted Talk Soup. I don't know if anyone agrees, but I thought he was hilarious. When he left it just wasn't funny anymore with Half Sparks and especially Aisha Tyler.
Henson was great, Sparks not so much, but I really liked Tyler alot - really thought she was funny. Joel was the best though, by a long shot - he made the reality fools pay.
