Question about tonight's episode?

Did we find out what happened to Helen? I mean, who attacked her? Because I got home late and only saw the last quarter of the programme. Also, what happened with Jane's wedding? Because I didn't see everything, but did she end up getting married to both Richard and Robert? I was confused!

Yes, it was Barry, Lilian's son. I was expecting it to be someone else because he was a bit too obvious. I thought it was going to be either Sid or Dave.

Yes, Jane seems to have ended up married to both Richard and Robert - always assumes she signs her second marriage certificate, because that's the point at which the marriage becomes legally binding.

Thank you. I thought it might be him because he wasn't at the wedding. You're right though, he was the obvious one, but I guess in a weird way, I didn't expect it to be him because he was so obvious, so that was still a surprise, if that makes any sense! I wonder whether she did complete the second marriage....this was the last episode, wasn't it? So I guess we'll just have to wait until the next series to see what happens!

No because at the moment we assume she hasn't consumated her marriage to Robert (so she could still get it annulled) and she most certainly hasn't with Richard.

Last film Cars 8/10 (good fun just that it had Owen Wilson in!!!)

The implication is that she has married both, or is about to complete the marriage ceremony with second one, which does make her a bigamist. Bigamy is not defined by the act of consumating a marriage, it is by the wedding ceremony itself. She has taken vows with two people, without being legally separated from one before she married the other, and that is bigamy. Whether or not she has slept with either of them since the ceremonies is largely irrelevant to the validity of the marriage.

And being able to get an annulment doesn't always hinge on whether the marriage has been consumated, it has, at least these days, more emphasis on whether the marriage was valid when the ceremony took place. Take Renee Zellweger for example. She was married for five months (or something like that) and I'm pretty sure she would've slept with her husband during that time, but she was still able to get an annulment when they broke up. It's supposed to be easier if the marriage hasn't been consumated, but it's still definately possible to get an annulment after some time has passed.
