Will someone please explain the clown?
i missed the first episode. WHY does she have a dying clown in her closet?

All that is ever said about "Why" is that the clown was part of the lease agreement. It's just accepted that he's there.

shareI've heard Tom Poston and Jennifer Finnegan mention that Clown is dying (although I'm sure a very slow death) in some of the interviews.
shareactually one of the writers was living in an aprtment in new york and was there with a lot of other young people. But the condition for the subletting was that they had to let some guy live in a walk-in closet.
But they said it was much bigger than the one in the show.

Yeah, they even say he's dying on the show. I feel kind of sorry for him cuz no one really pays attention to him and just calls him "Clown" as if he didn't have a name.
