This was great

I loved this episode! All the quirks they had, like when the clown just passed through, and it got a huge laugh! This is definitely gonna be one of those shows that doesn't last long and people will say, "what happeneed to this show? it was great!" or it will be like 'Seinfeld!' who knows! All I know is, I'm gonna watch every single episode of this show. Can't wait for Thursday!

Best line-

"...and I said you can't touch me like that, you're my uncle!"

I loved it! I haven't like a sitcom in a long, long time. The last time I really liked something on primetime tv was like season 8 of Friends, or whatever season it was when Rachael was pregnant. But this was just hilarious. The randomness is just awesome. And I love the part with her friend, the guy in the wheelchair. Where he's wheeling out of the place and they have to move all the tables and then carry him out the door. And he just slowly rolls pass the window glaring at Nate, ha! Had me in tears I was laughing so much. I hope the upcoming episodes stays with this same style and that the show atleast lasts a couple of seasons. All fingers crossed!

Ew. Gross. Really crossed a line there for me and I'm far from being politically correct. It just conjurs up horrible images of helpless children being abused. It's just not funny.

reply

i think it will become a show like scrubs.....not real famous but on the network for a while.
by the way the show sucked!!!!!!!!!!!talk about not funny!

reply

I completely agree. The laugh track had these huge laughs for nothing. It like they went, "Oh wait, that was 5 lines of dialogue. Insert a laugh track" It has some potential to get better, but they need to actually put in some funny dialogue instead of using a pre-recorded laugh track to make lines seem funny.

I worked at Committed for the whole run of the show as a studio page,I assure you that is no laugh track you are hearing.Committed was filmed in front of a studio audience at Universal Studios Hollywood

reply

Eight years later, I still think about this show all the time. You are lucky.

I agree, I thought it was a great show. A couple times it felt a little forced, but for a pilot episode, it was great. Shows generally take several episodes to find their voice, before that they don't take many chances, but this show seems like it could be something great.

reply

I laughed my butt off..great for a pilot I thought..the whole 'clown in the closet' thing was a bit much, seemed like they were trying too hard, nevertheless, whenever he would walk by it was hysterical, so I guess it worked out..I'm really looking forward to more episodes

reply

I thought it was absolutely hysterical as well. I haven't seen anything this funny since Scrubs came on the air, and especially since Stark Raving Mad (does anyone remember that insane show?) The whole wheelchair thing made me laugh hysterically... I guess I am politically incorrect. I thought it was a great pilot! I just wish there wasn't such a large laugh track though.

NY Daily News gave it a 1/2 star! Can you believe it?

WHen the clown gives her the hanky, and it quietly jsut keeps comign and coming and eventually changes color....that was awesome.

And I loved when his buddy was like "Sometimes you make me wanna stab you!"
I've been told that or somethign similar so many times by friends (I'm sorta weird and neurotic like the guy)

Oh man....I was up for this show for weeks. Even made sure my boss gave me the ngiht off to watch. Worth it. Great show if this is the pilot.

And the old lady in the backround after he gets out of the elveator "I;'m not sure this is my building"...so subtly hidden and hilarious.....shows deep, thought out writing

The first half of the show, I was a little iffy, but by the time the guy in the wheelchair made his exit, I had tears of laughter streaming down my face for the rest of the show. Hilarious - I hope it just gets better and finds its niche. And I agree about Stark Raving Mad.......completely underrated and truly hilarious.

The wheel chair guy almost stole the show-i really like this show ,hope NBC shows patience ,and won't switch it around 4 different times slots

reply

I also felt like the wheel chair guy stole the show.I'm surprised that he is not a main character. The episode where he was playing basketball had me laughing so hard.I hope that they make him a main character.

I had no idea that NBC found a "jem" left in them. Thursday night really needs help. "Joey" just has nothing to offer except an exceptional guest star ever great once in while. "The Apprentice" is so over. I want some MUST SEE TV.

But this show is where its at. And it was great seeing Tammy Lee taking on the neighbor role. Tom Postan in the closet. And what memories he brings back, Darius from "family matters" days..he's all grown up now.

I like the way the writers have set this storyline up. Its almost ground breaking. Doing the reversal of supporting characters as the "normal" ones. Cool.

I hope NBC gives this one a chance. I have to admit the commercials didn't do much for it. They made it look pretty stupid.

It's good, but I'm pretty starved for entertainment these days.

reply

i thought it was funny. not ROTFL, but still funny. especialy nate and most anyone he interacts with.
although, jennifer finnigan's (marni) voice is a tad annoying.

reply

I wanna be honest.. I think her AND her voice are very cute!

reply

yeah, i liked her on "bold and the beautiful".

eh...her voice is only annoying sometimes. its just me,i think. ;)

reply

I really enjoyed it too, it was cute and funny. I don't like clowns very much but other than that I really liked the show and I hope it has a long life span.
