Memory Tester for Australian film fans

Before Margaret and David hit the air waves there was strange old fellow on the ABC who did movie reviews who I used to love cause he was funny.
I am not sure if he was meaning to be but he always made me laugh.
Does anyone remember his name I saw his face in the opening credits of the Chaser War on Everything tonight.
Can anyone help?

There was a presenter/critic named John Hinde - he looked like a little gnome or something! Is that who you're thinking of?

Hinde passed away about eighteen months ago... A great movie-man and a respected and fascinating journalist. Sorely missed every day.
